Tasting notes

The 2023 Petite Sirah opens with aromas of boysenberry, blackberry, black pepper, eucalyptus, and dried lavender, layered with hints of tobacco, mocha, and vanilla. Rich and deeply colored, it delivers concentrated dark berry and plum flavors with sweet oak spice, a plush mid-palate, and a long finish framed by polished tannins.

Pairing

This versatile wine pairs well with a variety of foods like smoked lamb shoulder with rosemary, braised short ribs with blackberry barbecue sauce and smoked gouda cheese.

Winery Description

The Bogle family has been farming in the Sacramento River Delta for six generations. The first 20 acres of vines were planted in 1968 near the small farming community of Clarksburg. Today Bogle Vineyards farms over 1,500 acres of wine grapes in the Clarksburg AVA and other select California winegrowing regions including Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi and Amador and Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from the cool Monterey and Russian River Valley AVA’s. The Bogle family’s deep respect for the land and generational commitment to putting consistent, honest value in every bottle is rooted in one over-arching philosophy: the family is involved in every detail of the business. And they are some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet!
